Growing up, I didn’t have much exposure to the creative community. So, I initially gravitated toward a career in technology. Technology offered financial stability, but I just couldn’t shake this yearning for more
creativity.
In the early years, I was “hustling” rolls of film. I was balancing chasing my dreams versus the reality of survival. But I found a way. I opened my studio in Chicago, and with my entertainment network, I could collaborate with musicians, entertainers, poets, models, The Studio (as it was called)was a staple in Chicago - Kanye West, Common, Twista, and Jennifer Hudson, to name a few, stepped through the space.
In 2015, I got a call from Spike Lee to work on a feature film as a photographer, I loved it!
This call changed my life and expanded my approach and perspective as a photographer. While my roots will always be in Chicago, my creativity has and will continue to take me to many places worldwide.
